Japan Renaming Dementia into Cognitive Disorder


Japan's Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare officially submitted a report to rename "dementia" to "cognitive disorder". The study believes that terms such as "dementia" will cause significant harm to associated patients, particularly elderly patients, and will give people the wrong idea that "these patients don't know anything" which causes a feeling of horror and shame.
