State Aid Bill Moves Foward
The Senate just approved a cloture vote for the $26.1 billion state aid bill that would provide funds for teachers’ jobs and for Medicaid.
Maine Sens. Susan Collins and Olympia Snowe, both Republicans, voted with Democrats to prevent a filibuster.
The next step is a majority-rules vote in the Senate. The House will then need to vote on the bill, before it goes to President Obama to be signed into law.
