Democratic strategists are champing at the bit for Republicans to go on the record for total repeal of health care reform — the strategists believe that once the furor dies down, provisions like the ban on denying coverage based on pre-existing conditions will prove popular. Right on cue, the Club for Growth has launchedthe “Repeal It!” pledge.
The pledge, for candidates:
“„I hereby pledge to the people of my district/state upon my election to the U.S. House of Representatives/U.S. Senate, to sponsor and support legislation to repeal any federal health care takeover passed in 2010, and replace it with real reforms that lower health care costs without growing government.
The first congressional candidate I’ve seen sign on is Republican Tim Huelskamp, who’s running in the first district of Kansas.
