After months of denials that the architects of November’s horrific terrorist attacks in Mumbaihad anything to do with Pakistan, the Pakistani government abruptly reversed course:

Interesting that the announcement comes so soon after Richard Holbrooke’s first trip to the country as President Obama’s special envoyand after President Obama’s first phone callto Pakistani President Asif Ali Zardari. Still, the acknowledgment probably has more to do with the completion of a high-profile inquiry into the provenance of the attacks— delayed earlier this week after it concluded precisely what the government admitted today— that renders ongoing denials untenable.
