Gov. Scott Walker’s spokesman granted immunity in investigation
In the investigation of Gov. Scott Walker’s former and current aides for campaign finance improprieties, Walker’s current spokesman, Cullen Werwie, has been granted immunity to offer testimony.
Immunity is typically granted when the subject thinks they could otherwise get in trouble, according to the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel. The investigation of aides from Walker’s tenure as Milwaukee County executive, some of whom followed him to the statehouse, was launched more than a year and a half ago.
Railroad lobbyist Ken Lucht and Wisconsin Republican activist Rose Ann Dieck have also been granted immunity in the case.
Last month the secretive investigation gained a flood of exposure when the FBI raided the Madison home of Walker aide Cindy Archer.
Walker has denied any involvement.
