Obama celebrates Midwest in weekly address
President Barack Obama‘s weekly address was filmed at an Illinois farm and leans heavily on his Midwest tour throughout — including a shout-out to the Maquoketa High School girls’ volleyball team — but the overall theme is that it is time for those in Congress to quit playing politics.
“[W]e need the folks in Washington — the people whose job it is to deal with the country’s problems, the people you elected to serve — we need them to put aside their differences and get things done,” Obama said.
