The Beautiful Mile is one of the best shopping streets in North America. It passes through the heart of Chicago along Michigan Ave. It is also the seating ground for many of the most significant architectural wonders built in the 20th century. It stretches from the beautiful Chicago River to "the loop", a major business district (dyed the colour green every St. Patrick's Day). It is home to a stunning boulevard and broad sidewalks that host beautiful restaurants, exquisite hotels and shops, and some of the world's tallest buildings. A variety of prominent buildings, such as the John Hancock Center and the historic Tribune Tower, are situated along the Magnificent Mile.
