On December 21, 2018, Bay released Bumblebee, a spin-off film directed by Travis Knight and produced by him. In 2022, a seventh film, Transformers: Rise of the Beasts, directed by Steven Caple Jr. and a sequel to Bumblebee, will be produced.
Paramount Pictures and DreamWorks Pictures are responsible for the distribution of the series. Except for Bumblebee, who got favorable reviews, the original Transformers series had a negative to mixed response.
With a total of $4.8 billion, it is the 13th highest-earning film series, with two features making over $1 billion apiece.

Michael Bay directed Transformers: Dark of the Moon, a 2011 American science fiction action disaster film based on the Transformers toy brand. It is the third live-action Transformers film and the sequel to Revenge of the Fallen (2009). It's also the first time DreamWorks Animation hasn't co-produced a picture in the franchise, leaving Paramount Pictures as the sole distributor.

Transformers: Age of Extinction is a science fiction action film based on the Transformers toy line that was released in 2014. It is the fourth live-action Transformers film and the sequel to Dark of the Moon (2011), taking place five years after the events of the previous film.
