"Poker Face" was originally published in September 2008, and it rose to the top of the Hot 100 in the spring of 2009, after the worldwide success of her breakthrough hit "Just Dance." The video for the song was released in September 2008.

Because it was released during the heyday of one-time purchases on platforms such as iTunes, it was able to achieve the highest place in the most competitive ranking thanks to very strong sales.

Interestingly, despite the fact that "Poker Face" dominated the Hot 100 and has gone down in history as one of the most popular songs of all time, much of the last decade, it failed to reach the top of the Dance/Electronic Song Sales list.

The track-only achieved a peak position of No. 3, which makes its return to the top tier so many years after it originally became popular all the more remarkable.

It is also one of the most successful songs in the history of the Dance/Electronic Song Sales list, and in this context, it achieved a significant milestone in its career.

It has now been placed somewhere on the list of 250 frames as a result of another successful week for the cut.

While it may have been in the top 10 on the genre-specific Dance/Electronic Song Sales chart, "Poker Face" did not place among the top 10 when considering all genres of music as a whole.

According to Nielsen Music statistics, the song does not rank among the top 200 most popular songs in the nation, and it is estimated to have sold less than 1,000 copies in the most recent tracking period, but this is still enough to distinguish it from a number of other well-known electro tracks.

Why Is Poker Face Lady Gaga Trending?

Despite the fact that the music has been out for many years, the lyrics of Poker Face are now trending all over the internet in 2021.

And the reason for this is, of course, because someone on TikTok has made a shocking disclosure.

One astute user discovered that the famous words of Lady Gaga's song have more meaning than meets the eye-and that we have been singing them incorrectly for years.

During a press conference, Lady Gaga said that the song's primary inspirations were sex and gambling and that the lyrics included many sexual innuendos.

Along With A Lot Of Appreciation, This Song Also Faces Criticism

After its publication, "Poker Face" got a great deal of positive feedback from critics.

A review of `` Fame published by Priya Elan of The Times praised the song "Poker Face" for its "love-as-card-game humor," describing it as one of the album's best moments.

The "strut-tastic" song, according to the music critics, "expresses her overpowering yearning for fame and wealth."'s Bill Lamb said, "Poker Face" sounds great on pop radio, but with a few minor mixing tweaks, it would be equally at home in a dark, sweaty, late-night party environment.

The pop world in the United States and the United Kingdom has been reenergized during a time of year that is often sluggish.

Everyone is waiting for Lady Gaga to take the next step ahead, and her hit single 'Poker Face' keeps the engines humming. "

According to Billboard's Chris Williams, the song received a favorable review. "Hooks abound once again, this time in the form of '80s-inspired synths, robotic verses, and a warm, sunny hook in the chorus that is even more irresistible than the previous hit ('Just Dance.')

"Poker" is another apparent ace in Gaga's deck of cards, which includes a concentrated creative vision, a swagger in her interview manner, and most importantly, a great collection of varied pop morsels. "

Among the songs that work in The Fame, according to Sal Cinquemani, music critic for Slant Magazine, are "Poker Face," as well as "Starstruck," "Paper Gangsta," and "Summerboy," among others.

Allmusic's Matthew Chisling described the song as "infectious," and he praised them for "rejuvenating the mood of the album for its second half," which he said was achieved through the song and the title track.

In his review of Gaga's Fame Ball tour, Andy Downing of the Chicago Tribune described the song as "jaunty."

When it comes to "Poker Face," Evan Sawdey of believes that it, along with the tune "Paparazzi," cover a lot of the same "glitzy terrain that the previous song "Just Dance" had traversed, but there is never a sense that Gaga is intentionally repeating herself. "

"Poker Face" was likened to the sound of singer Amy Winehouse in a Rolling Stone review of the Fame Ball Tour's live acoustic "blues" rendition of the song.

'Trashtastic Europop,' according to Erika Hobert, a reporter for the New Times Broward-Palm Beach newspaper.

Song of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best Dance Recording were all nominated for Grammy Awards, with the last of these, Best Dance Recording, taking home the award.

In their list of the 100 best songs of the 2000s decade, Rolling Stone placed it at number ninety-six.

Some Live Performances Of Poker Face By Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga has performed "Poker Face" at a variety of events, including the AOL Sessions, the Cherrytree House of Interscope Records, and the MTV Sessions, among others.

The song was played by Gaga on her headlining The Fame Ball Tour, both in its original version and in an acoustic piano version.

She played the piano version while dressed in a frock made of clear plastic bubbles and stood in front of the stage, playing the glass piano with her stilettos, much like in the music video, with a luminous mannequin in front of her.

It was Gaga's assertion that the translucent bubble-filled piano was custom built to match her outfit.

The real version of the song was played by Gaga as the last song of the encore, after "Boys, Boys, Boys" and "Born This Way."

When she began her performance, she said, "Some people think Lady Gaga is a lie, and they're right. They're right: I am a lie, and every day I kill myself to make it real."

During the performance, Gaga donned a corseted leotard with crystals and an admiral's hat, which she accessorized with a tiara.

The name Gaga was emblazoned on both the cap and the fingerless gloves that Gaga was sporting at the time.

The acoustic and regular versions of "Poker Face" were both performed live on Fox's ``American Idol on April 1, 2009.

The concert began with Gaga seated at a Plexiglas piano filled with bubbles and drenched in pink light, which served as the stage backdrop.

She began singing the second stanza of "Poker Face" in the manner of Bette Midler, backed by a violinist, while wearing a glossy metal shoulder pad and a platinum bleached blond wig, as if she were Bette Midler herself.

Immediately after the first chorus, the tempo quickened, and the song's original opening began to play.

In the center of the stage, Gaga rose from her seat and began to sing the song she was now listening to.

She donned a silvery leotard with a big star on her shoulder and tassels, which she accessorized with feathers.

Towards the end of the song, as it reached the intermediate verse, the violinist performed a hoe-down rendition of the music, and Gaga furiously danced about the stage.

With her gaze directed towards the crowd and a zipper partially exposed over her left eye, Gaga brought the concert to a conclusion.

The act was dubbed "alien-disco performance art" by those who saw it.

According to Cortney Harding of Billboard, "[it was] Gaga's crowning television moment... demonstrating to middle America that she was a legitimate pop star."

Gaga performed an acoustic version of the song on April 19, 2009, as part of the BBC Live & In-Session series.

On the same day, she made her television debut, appearing on the Quelli che... il Calcio show, which was her first appearance on Italian television.

She also appeared on The Paul O'Grady Show in the United Kingdom, when she sang "Poker Face."

She began by performing an acoustic version of the song before moving on to the standard version and finally a rock version on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.

While appearing on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2009, Gaga played "Poker Face," a song from her album The Fame, while wearing a gyroscope on her head, created by theatrical hat designer Nasir Mazhar, and playing the piano while perched on a stool.

Gaga referred to the gyroscope as her "Gaga barrier" throughout her performance.

Because of the enormity of the equipment, it prohibited Ellen DeGeneres from welcoming her.

During the indoor-outdoor streetside performance portion of the 2009 MuchMusic Video Awards, a remixed version of "Poker Face" and "LoveGame" was performed by the members of the group.

A homage to New York City was intended with this performance, which featured Gaga being imprisoned in a fake subway vehicle surrounded by fake police officers.

A snippet of the song was played by Gaga during the thirty-fifth season of the American comedy program Saturday Night Live, when she was surrounded by a huge contraption called "The Orbit," which consisted of multiple metallic concentric rings that spun around her.

In September 2009, Gaga made an appearance on the French television program Taratata, where she sang the song "Poker Face" and added an impromptu French verse to it.
