Let the conflict between the Nvidia GPU siblings begin! The NVIDIA RTX 3060 and 3060 Ti mining hashrate of two graphics cards will be observed. First, we’ll discuss the specifications of these popular selections. More importantly, this will resolve the debate over which of the two GPUs is the superior mining GPU. Is it the RTX 3060's 12GB of VRAM? Or is it possible that the 3060 Ti will come out on top, despite its 8GB of VRAM? After the dust settles, we'll crown the winner!

The RTX 3060 series is Nvidia's most memorable release to date. The green brand cut the hash rate required for Ethereum mining on its new graphics card, making them less attractive to miners. They initially worked as intended, but the restriction has been removed. Continue reading to learn more about the mining ability of the two GPUs.

What Is The Difference Between The RTX 3060 And The RTX 3060 TI?

As a result of its higher performance, the 200W TDP RTX 3060 Ti will typically consume more power than the 170W TDP RTX 3060. In many cases, you can expect around 15% on average, but thermals are frequently similar.

Is 3060 12GB Good For Mining?

As it later discovered, the RTX 3060 12GB can only maintain the hash rate when connected via PCI-E x16. Thus, to mine with multiple graphics cards, a motherboard with a large number of x16 ports is required. Typically, this is a server motherboard. Whatever the details, the test results are excellent.

Is A RTX 3060 TI Good For Mining?

The RTX 3060 Ti LHR hashrate is now productive with some of the finest mining GPUs, including the RTX 2070 and RX 5700.

Conclusion

Regrettably for both miners and gamers, the RTX 3060 Ti's price remains exceptionally low. According to eBay's most recent GPU price index, scalpers are still inflating the RTX 3060 Ti's price by more than twice its official MSRP. The average price over the last week has been around $940, with the majority of cards fetching at least $740.

This makes the RTX 3060 Ti a much worse deal for mining farms than the RTX 3060, despite the NBMiner hack. Even at 41MH/s, that equates to an average earnings of around $3.25 at current rates, implying a nearly 290-day break-even period. That appears to be the going rate for the majority of GPUs listed on eBay. The RX 6600 XT, which was recently launched, achieves around 32 MH/s after tuning and sells for $620 on eBay. That works out to approximately $2.50 per day, with a break-even period of 248 days at current rates.

On the other hand, NBMiner provides some impressive performance improvements for the RTX 3060 Ti LHR, and this should be the case for all LHR graphics cards. If Ethereum prices continue to rise, this could result in another wave of miners consuming GPU supply — at least until the upcoming switch to proof of stake takes effect (currently slated for December).
