The first built settlement, built after the country obtained its independence, was the wonderful city of Chandigarh. Pt. started by. The very first thing that comes to mind is the Capitol Complex when it comes to the city's major tourism attractions. The High Court, the State Legislature, and the Secretariat building are the three main structures in the Capitol Complex. As part of the wide enclosed rooms, all three are interlocked with each other, delicately balanced and providing a discreet visual perspective. The town's most famous observable sign, called the Open Fist, is juxtaposed between the silhouettes of these brilliant edifices. Framed like a massive steel fist, it rotates from a foundation placed high on a concrete block, delivering a big, direct message to all, i.e. open to send, open to receive. Another cool thing is that the Delhi or Gurgaon cab you're going to take to Chandigarh will drop you right here.

The key spot to visit, next to the Capitol Building, is Sector 17. Along with the city centre, a slick shopping district. You can go from one end of the sector to the other in the summer under the cover of a corridor, and it's perfect to be out in the sun-drenched piazzas in the winter. It becomes the largest outdoor club in the city in the evenings, as the vivid mosaic of the aesthetically and neon signs lit fountains come alive. And for the joy of the hang-up that is urban, the folks assemble there together with the enthusiasm of its own shop front shimmer.

With no relation to his most famous works, the Rock Garden, no definition of Chandigarh gardens may be incomplete. Spread over 12 acres of wooded land near Le Corbusier's Capitol Complex, it is the invention of Nek Chand, a modest retired road inspector. By converting urban waste content into artistic designs and emotions, mute stone was turned into art objects by his touch. The marvel and wonder of primordial nature is recreated through enigmatic spaces of waterfalls, rocks and stones. This unabashed kingdom of man-made and natural creativity draws people from all ages and from all elements of the world.

A major feature of Chandigarh is its Leisure Valley, which ornaments the city from one end to the other like a garland of gardens. A natural eroded valley with a small gurgling rivulet from the town site has now been built into a series of theme gardens. The Rose Garden is the most popular of these. The Garden of Tranquility, Garden of Unusual Plants, Garden of Annuals, and Bougainvillea Garden are the other popular parks in the area.
