I heard this philosophy years ago & now I forever live by it, and the exact same principle works with the law of attraction.

The idea is that if you tried to chase a cat it will sense your desperation & run away.

However if you sit near a cat with a warm & relaxed manner it will eventually come to you…


When it comes to manifesting, the more desperate you are with your desires the further away they’ll be.

The universal law works states that “like attracts like”, so you are simply mirroring back the feelings you are currently having.

So it’s extremely important to control your emotional state of being & allow your desires to flow freely into your life.

But how do you do that?

Well it’s important to be aware you’re having them in the first place.

Are you desperately trying to find an immediate solution to receive what you want?

Or are you complacent knowing your desires will arrive in divine timing?

If it’s the first option, then perhaps you need to relieve these feelings of lack.

I have a few methods that I believe will help, here they are:

  • Learn the method of “letting go”.
  • Practice breathing techniques.
  • Be present with your current reality.
  • Read books on mindset & law of attraction.

It’s easy to feel desperate for something that you’ve been longing to have, but it will do more harm than good.

Trying to force something to work (or chasing the cat) will only lead to more of what you don’t want.

When you notice yourself in a state of desperation when trying to manifest, take a moment and practice my methods above.

By doing so you will avoid making this vital mistake.

2.) Ignoring Signs From The Universe:


When you’re on the path to attracting your desires into fruition, you’ll likely face many different universal signs.

Signs act as guidance & confirmation that you’re in alignment with your goals.

But a common mistake people make is they ignore these signs or have no idea they exist.

Ignoring confirmation can potentially lead you on the wrong path & further away from your manifestations.

So it’s important to be aware of them for when they show up in your physical or non-physical reality.

  • Seeing number synchronicities.
  • Receiving inspirational ideas.
  • Seeing more of your desires in the physical.
  • Feeling more energetic & excited about life.

These signs will find you naturally in unexpected times, so there’s no need to look because they will find you (remember the cat philosophy?) but it’s important to be aware of them so you don’t ignore them.

If you do see one, try to understand what the sign means to you.

For instance, if you’re working on a project you believe will make you money & see 11:11, this is likely confirmation you’re doing something right!

Act on it, & keep going in that direction.

Another tip is to write down every time you see a sign from the universe, write down when you saw it and what you were doing when you did, you will begin to notice certain patterns.

When you notice patterns of alignment, you’ll be able to gain a better understanding as what you need to do in order to manifest your desires!

3.) Being Impatient:

Being impatient with what you want to attract is a common mistake many people make (myself included!)


Impatience lies with a false belief of what many believe manifestation is, a magic pill or quick fix.

Although I believe that what your desires can manifest at any given moment, many seem to expect that “given moment” is right now.

Let me enlighten you a little.

You cannot expect a million dollars, your dream body, and a mansion all at the click of your fingers, it simply doesn’t work like that.

Now I’m not saying you should expect your desires to take forever, but you cannot watch the clock & expect everything to to show up in an instant either.

Patience is about having faith in the universe and being comfortable with when your desires will manifest.

If you’re feeling impatient, here are some tips that may help:

I understand you want your desires to happen sooner rather than later, I totally get it.

But please try to understand that certain manifests take time.

The law of attraction isn’t a gimmick or shortcut, it’s a lifestyle choice.

So enjoy the journey & try not to worry so much about the destination!

4.) Not Maintaining High Vibrations:

Are you maintaining high levels of vibrations throughout your day to day life?


If you’re not taking the time for your own personal care then this could take your manifestation abilities out of sync.

In short, your vibrations are the frequencies that you emit to the universe.

When your vibes are low, this often manifests in negative thoughts & feelings.

These thoughts & feelings then attract physically into your life.

So it’s super important to make the conscious effort to raise them as much & as frequently as possible.

The first step in raising them is being conscious of the thoughts that you’re having.

Awareness is key, take some time to self reflect on your thoughts & feelings in the past few days, weeks, or even months.

How have you been feeling?

Has there been negative occurrences that have made you feel down?

If there has, then that’s okay!

Simply ignoring them & allowing them to harbor in your mind will only cause more harm than good, and will most likely interfere with your positive goals & desires to come.

So let’s raise these vibes shall we?

Here are a few methods that work for me, & you’re welcome to try for yourself:

  • Take an Epsom salt bath or a long, hot shower.
  • Get some fresh air & exercise.
  • Eat healthy foods, health is wealth!
  • Practice kindness to others.
  • Write a gratitude journal

Maintaining a high vibration is about doing things that make YOU feel happy & positive about yourself!

A common mistake I see in the spiritual community is many people believe ignoring their problems is how you should maintain a high vibration.

This is not a healthy way to live your life!

In fact, it’s more effective for your well being to be consciously aware of negative thoughts and emotions, so that you can learn how to deal with them in a positive manner.

5.) Not Taking Inspired Action:

Inspired actions are the steps you take towards your goals & desires that are inspired from within.

There is no law of attraction without ACTION.


And more often than not, many people either avoid this step entirely or don’t believe you need to take any type of action at all…

That’s simply not how it works, here’s why…

We are physical beings living in a physical reality, if we wish to manifest materialistic experiences we need to take physical action.

Applying manifestation techniques sparks inspiration, ideas, and often motivates you to try something new so it’s your job to act on them.

If you’ve been journaling about landing your dream job, perhaps send in your application…

Visualizing that specific person coming into your life?

Then maybe add them on Facebook or strike up the conversation when you see them.

You need to push out of your inner self and express it in a physical manner in order for it to manifest.

6.) Aligning Yourself With The Wrong People:

A positive environment is vital to ensure a positive future for yourself, and you need to ask yourself if the people in it are contributing in a positive way.

The wrong people can steal your energy, dampen your vibrations, and completely disrupt the alignment process altogether.

For me personally, I had friends that weren’t nice people.

They would talk behind their friends backs, gossip, & poke fun at people that had positive ambitions.

At the time, I was just as bad as them, but after discovering spiritualism and the law of attraction my perspective completely shifted.

The more I learned about myself the more I wanted to make the conscious effort to be a better person, but they didn’t…

So over time, I had to let go of these toxic people that were hindering my manifestations.

Was it easy? No.

But after letting these negative people go I found people that were kinder and more caring with similar ambitions as I had.


And guess what? There was a massive shift in my reality & my desires started to manifest more than I could possibly imagine.

Sometimes you need to be a little selfish and take care of yourself before others.

If you feel like you’re around people that are not inspiring, uplifting, or positive then you need to evaluate if you want them in your life or not.

This is will tell you have to protect your own energies so they’re not affected by others.

All in all, your desired outcome is highly influenced by the people you spend time with, so choose wisely!
