A man allegedly kills parents and two friends days after prison release. The victims were found dead in their home in a quiet neighborhood in a small town in the Midwest.
Only days after being released from jail, the man admitted to killing four people, including his parents, and then opening fire on vehicles on a busy interstate highway, according to authorities.

The Crime Scene

Four individuals were discovered shot dead at the residence about 9:21 a.m. Tuesday: 72-year-old Robert Eger, 62-year-old Patricia Eger, and 62-year-old Cynthia Eaton were found inside, while 66-year-old David Eaton was found in the barn, according to Maine State Police at a press conference Wednesday.
According to authorities, the victims were discovered by a neighbor who went to check on them after noticing that their cars had not moved for several days. The neighbor called the police when they found the front door of the house unlocked.
The victims were identified as the suspect's parents, both in their 60s, and two of their close friends who were visiting from out of town.
The motive behind the killings is still unclear, but authorities have stated that they believe the suspect had a strained relationship with his parents.

The suspect, who had recently been released from prison, was arrested after a brief manhunt. He was found in a neighboring state and taken into custody without incident.
According to state police, Joseph Eaton was apprehended and "admitted to killing his parents and their pals in Bowdoin." Joseph Eaton reportedly "thought the vehicles he fired on the freeway were police cars pursuing him."
According to authorities, he has been charged with four charges of murder.
The investigation is ongoing, and authorities are gathering evidence to determine the exact sequence of events that led to the killings. The suspect is expected to face multiple charges, including murder and weapons offenses.
