Madeline career

Madeline is a lawyer that works primarily in the field of marriage law. She began her legal career as an associate at the Manhattan law firm of Shea & Gould. She went on to practice as a lawyer for several years after that. However, numerous sites now claim that her right to practice law has been suspended. As a result, she is largely well-known for being a member of the Cuomo family. Her family history, on the other hand, is inextricably linked to American politics. Since the beginning of her career, Madeline Cuomo has been involved in a variety of political activities. Furthermore, as a Matrimonial Lawyer, she primarily handles all aspects of people's matrimonial relationships, including marriage, divorce, and child custody. She is not as well-known as her sisters. This is due to the fact that she has not yet been involved in major political issues. Madeline appears to be preoccupied with establishing her own major profession. As a result, she prefers to work as a lawyer at the moment and has no plans to enter American politics. Similarly, she believes Andrew Cuomo, her brother, is the best person to handle such political concerns. Furthermore, if we look at Madeline's income, we can see that she is doing an excellent job that is sufficient to support her family.

Madeline personal life

She was also 28 years old when she married the son of Justice James O'Donoghue and his wife Peg O'Donoghue, despite the fact that Brian was two years her senior. The pair met at St. Francis School, and they both have a passion for public service. Their wedding reception was a huge success, with their sisters, brothers, in-laws, nephews, and other family members in attendance. In addition, she married in an Eve of Milady bridal gown. Furthermore, because of the marriage, Brian has avoided the media, and no one knows how the couple is doing or where they've been living. There are also no details about whether or not they will have children.

Grew up with four siblings

Madeline spent the majority of her childhood in Queens with her two brothers, Andrew and Chris Cuomo, and two sisters, Maria Cuomo Cole and Margaret Cuomo. Since 2011, Andrew has served as the governor of New York. He was elected as the National Governors Association's chairperson. Meanwhile, Chris is one of the most well-known figures in the media, now serving as the host of CNN's Cuomo Prime Time, a weeknight news analysis show.

Margaret, on the other hand, is a well-read woman when it comes to Madeline's sisters. She graduated from The Mary Louis Academy in 1973. She subsequently went on to SUNY Downstate Medical Center, where she got her M.D. in 1981. Margaret is currently a radiologist who frequently writes books about health-related topics. Furthermore, their sister Maria works as a film producer.

Madeline relationship

Madeline is a happily married woman who married her high school love, Brian John O'Donoghue, on June 12, 1993. Their wedding was held at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Albany, and a reception was held at the Governor's Mansion.

Cuomo wore an Eve of Milady gown with embroidered lace sleeves for her wedding. At the time of their wedding, Larry King, a TV broadcaster, told The New York Times,

“She looked gorgeous! It was the longest dress I’ve ever seen in my life.”

In terms of their wedding party, it was a family affair, with just the newlywed couple's brother, sisters, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, and nieces in attendance. “Friends are one thing, but family is everything,” Madeline's husband Brian's brother Thomas O'Donoghue told the magazine.

“I asked Brian if he considered having any friends in the wedding and he said, ‘My family is my friends. Neither of them would even consider going outside of their families. Friends are one thing, but family is everything.”

A high school classmate of the couple, Chris Greene, told the tabloid,

“He’s one of the true good-doers in the world. Most guys our age are out to make money and have a good time, but not him. He’s looking to save lives.”

Madeline and Brian originally met at St. Francis Preparatory School, which they both attended. The two hit it off right away, and they didn't waste any time getting to know each other. The couple had been dating for some years before marrying in the early-mid 1990s. They've been together since then, and their marriage is still going strong. The New York City matrimonial lawyer is likewise fairly successful at keeping her work and personal lives separate. As a result, we haven't been able to determine whether Madeline and her husband have any children. She said that her husband is a devoted family member. According to her, “Brian had had a long reputation in our family as a guy who was unlucky. When he was younger, he would get into minor car accidents and scrapes. We used to call him the Luckless Wonder. As you can well guess, as soon as he got engaged to the Governor’s daughter, that title changed quickly.”  Brian went to Fordham University to study law. He used to be a firefighter in New York City. O'Donoghue also worked as a lifeguard on Long Island's Jones Beach.

Madeline’s net worth

Madeline has a net worth of $1 million. Her career as an attorney provided a substantial chunk of her wealth. Her family and she are currently based in New York.

Andrew Cuomo has been in the national spotlight in recent weeks as people praise the way he is leading New York State through the coronavirus pandemic

With 32,700 cases as of Wednesday, New York is the worst-affected state in the country. Cases are projected to surge in the next three weeks, prompting the construction of a makeshift morgue outside of New York City's Bellevue Hospital. According to Business Insider's Bryan Pietsch, the governor signed an executive order on March 20 ordering all non-essential firms to keep their staff home beginning the evening of Sunday, March 23. New Yorkers were also urged not to congregate in groups and not to use public transportation unless absolutely necessary.

In 1991, Mario almost ran for president

Mario almost travelled to New Hampshire to file his presidential candidacy for the 1992 election, but backed out at the last minute because "[New York] state Senate Republicans were fighting him over the budget," according to The Atlantic's Edward-Isaac Dovere in his biography on Andrew Cuomo.

"It appears to me that I cannot devote my attention to New Hampshire while this threat looms over the heads of the New Yorkers whom I've promised to put first," he declared at a press conference, just seconds after withdrawing his presidential nomination at the last minute.

Both of Matilda's parents were Italian immigrants hailing from Sicily

Matilda was born in the year 1931, however her real name is Mattia. She is the mother of the Cuomo family.  According to Paula Cohen of the Chicago Tribune, her name was changed to Matilda because her teachers called her Matilda instead of Mattia. Matilda is a well-known advocate for women and children and the founder of Mentoring USA, a program that pairs students with mentors to help reduce dropout rates. For her career of advocacy, Matilda was honored into the National Women's Hall of Fame in 2015. When her son, New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, started passing laws to help combat the spread of the coronavirus in New York State in March 2020, he announced a law named after his mother: "Matilda's Law" protects New Yorkers over the age of 70, as well as those with compromised immune systems and underlying diseases.
