On Tuesday, Hayden Panettiere was seen with convicted felon Brian Hickerson at Los Angeles International Airport. This comes eight months after the two were involved in a wild bar brawl in which he was accused of spitting on customers.
The Report
When the actress, age 33, was seen making her way through the airport terminal with Hickerson in tow, she maintained a low profile by dressing in a black hooded sweatshirt and a beige baseball cap.
Panettiere and Hickerson went to a restaurant in the airport that was located close to their boarding area to grab a bite to eat while they waited for their flight. Hickerson was dressed in all black and carried a large green backpack on his back.
The actress was seen texting away on her cell phone while Hickerson towered over her.
It would appear that the two are getting ready to leave Los Angeles for a Thanksgiving vacation, but the location of their trip is unknown.
It was reported in July that Panettiere and Hickerson, who is on probation until 2025 for physically abusing the actress in 2018, had finally ended their troubled on-and-off romance. Hickerson was sentenced to probation in 2018 for physically abusing Panettiere.
The Heroes actress described her relationship with Hickerson as a very dark and complicated time in her life when speaking about it in an interview that took place during the same month.
She says that she knows 'a lot of women go through what I went through, and I want people to know it's OK to ask for help.' Because of this, she felt compelled to tell her story because she wants people to be educated about this important issue.
Panettiere and Hickerson made headlines back in March after they were filmed getting into a wild brawl with a group of revelers at a celebrity hotspot in Los Angeles.
The incident occurred after the convicted felon was said to have spat on one of the competing patrons at the establishment.
The Bar Brawl
The five-foot-tall actress can be seen and heard on a video that was obtained yelling "Brian" as she tries to pull her boyfriend away from the group on the evening of March 25 in front of the Sunset Marquis hotel.
At the same time, a woman in the other party can be heard yelling, "back the f**k up."
A witness who spoke with TMZ stated that Hickerson spat at a member of the group, which prompted the manager of the trendy bar to kick everyone out of the establishment.
According to a representative for Panettiere who spoke to an interview, Hickerson "made a comment to an individual about leaving the waitress a poor tip."
After that individual and the group he was with started pushing Brian, security eventually ordered everyone else outside of the building.
According to the representative, Hayden and Brian were attacked by the group despite Hayden's best efforts to defuse the situation and protect his friends.
The video begins on a street in West Hollywood, outside the hotel, with security asking other customers who were not involved in the fight to return inside the establishment.
An employee was heard saying, "I need everyone back in the bar, please," as Hickerson was seen launching toward the group of approximately eight people who were standing on the ramp.
Hickerson was seen wearing a white T-shirt and shorts. It would appear that Hickerson and Panettiere are going up against two women, who are choosing to remain on the sidelines for the most part, as well as six men. The fight, on the other hand, is between Hickerson and just one other man.
As Panettiere was seen pointing over an employee's shoulder, security grabbed Hickerson and pulled him away from the group. Someone in the group could be heard yelling at the celebrities, "it's over, it's over."
The group eventually moved away from the front door and out onto the street, where fists and feet flew.
The Bring It On star stayed mostly near the outer ring of the fight, warningly calling her boyfriend's name. At one point, a man in a brown jacket continued to launch himself at Hickerson, prompting Panettiere to reach out and grab his jacket in order to pull him away from her boyfriend.
She was knocked to the ground along with two to three other people, and the man Panettiere grabbed was seen being held in a headlock by Hickerson.
The actress can be seen being lifted to her feet by what appears to be a bar employee out of the corner of the frame, but she didn't stay out of the action for long, trying to pry her boyfriend away from the fight.
Final Words
Months after the March 2022 brawl, Hickerson told TMZ he and Panettiere were 'just friends' and no longer dating. Also, he was seen moving out of her LA home.
Panettiere on the other hand said that she was 'trying to live in a place of forgiveness' and 'understanding' regarding Hickerson and the domestic violence incidents he was charged with during their relationship.
