Recently hogging local and international headlines is no less than Donald Trump.

In short, the ex-POTUS is back in the spotlight.

Born on June 14, 1946 in Queens, New York, Donald John M. Trump served as the 45th president of the United States (2017–2021).

Trump campaigned under the slogan, “Make America Great Again.”

He’s the fourth child of Frederick Christ Trump Sr. (1905–1999), a real estate developer of German descent, and Scottish immigrant Mary Anne S. MacLeod-Trump (1912–2000).

He earned a bachelor’s degree in economics at the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School of Finance and Commerce in 1968.

In 1974, Trump took over his father’s firm, E. Trump & Son - renamed Trump Organization - as president.

Fifteen years later, in 1989, Forbes estimated his net worth at $1.5 billion.

So, Trumps’ the guy who became a company president before he reached 30 and a billionaire when he was 42-43.

To top it all off, he was sworn in as U.S. president at 70.

What a charming life, to say the least.

Yet, as people would sometimes say, the devil is in the details.

What are some of the details in the colorful and controversial life of Donald Trump?

What Is Donald Trump Doing Now?

That would be easier to answer if the Twitter account of Donald Trump hasn’t been suspended since January 2021.

The 76-year-old businessman particularly liked to tweet when he was still the country’s commander in chief.

Trump would probably take to Twitter his reactions to recent allegations against him, both as a former president and as a likely future presidential candidate.

Donald Trump Twitter

In 2021, less than 15 days before he stepped down as president, Twitter permanently suspended his account.

From an official statement dated January 8, 2021, Twitter said:

After close review of recent Tweets from the @realDonaldTrump account . . . we have permanently suspended the account due to the risk of further incitement of violence.

Good thing a simple Google search would suffice to satisfy people’s curiosity.

Mar-A-Lago Estate Raid

Donald Trump could have been busy lately consulting with his lawyers regarding the FBI raid on one of his property jewels.

On August 8, no fewer than 30 FBI agents raided the 20-acre Mar-A-Lago resort in Palm Beach, Florida, in search of documents.

These official papers include classified ones.

The law requires the outgoing president to surrender all presidential papers to the U.S. National Archives and Records Administration.

With Trump as a former POTUS, several politicians and media personalities described the raid as “unprecedented.”

Donald Trump 2024

Donald Trump could also be busy preparing for the upcoming presidential election.

Yes, some signs indicate he would be running again.

On August 6, Trump won an unofficial straw poll at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Texas, reported CNN.

At CPAC in Orlando, Florida, back in February 2022, he won there, too.

In a July interview with New York Magazine, Trump said he was still thinking when he would announce his presidential campaign.

CNN noted that it’s “when” and “not if.”

To some extent, these recent news on Donald Trump provide a background on what could have been keeping him busy these days.

Media outlets already reported about the possible lawsuits that Trump might face in connection to the FBI raid.

Attorney Alina Habba, one of Trump’s lawyers, believed that charges would not be filed if he would not seek reelection, according to Business Insider.

Donald Trump has still yet to make a public confirmation or declaration about his 2024 presidential plans.

What’s Eating Donald Trump?

Or the question could also be: “How do you solve a problem like Donald?”

Both inspired by two Hollywood films (one starring Leonardo DiCaprio; the other, Julie Andrews), a movie could be made about Donald Trump.

He’s got an interesting life after all - as a private individual, a family man, a businessman, and a U.S. president.

Trump And Women

As a man, the fascination of Donald Trump with women is only natural.

But if such attraction already borders to what could be deemed as harassment and sexual assault, then there’s a problem there.

In his book Trump, The Greatest Show on Earth: The Deals, The Downfall, The Reinvention (1991), Wayne Barrett revealed something about Trump and Playboy.

Once, Trump wanted some of his female employees to pose for the notorious adult magazine.

Barret said, Per Business Insider, that Trump wanted Playboy to feature them in a spread.

And he wanted to call it “The Girls of Trump.”

Senior Business Insider correspondent Kate Taylor wrote for the site in 2018:

More than a dozen women have said that Trump sexually assaulted them or committed other acts of sexual impropriety, with allegations stretching back to the 1980s.

Donald Trump Marriages

It’s three weddings and one inauguration.

Donald Trump first got married in 1977 to Ivana Maria F. Zelnickova (1949–2022).

It was a second marriage for the former Czech model.

Their children: Donald John Jr., 44; Ivana Marie, aka Ivanka, 40; and Eric Frederick, 38.

After 14 years of marriage, they divorced in 1992.

Per Vanity Fair, Ivana caught Donald Trump cheating on her in 1989. The other woman? Actress-model Marla Maples (born Marla Ann L. Maples).

In December 1993 they tied the knot.

The wedding happened two months after Maples gave birth to their only child, Tiffany Ariana (now 28).

They divorced in 1999.

For the third time, Donald Trump, at 58, exchanged wedding vows in 2005.

This time to the then-34-year-old model Melanija U. Knavs (German version: Knauss) from Slovenia (the former Yugoslavia).

He and the former first lady have one child: the 6-foot-7-inch-tall Barron William, 16.

Taxing Trump

With the real estate empire he built, it would be tough to cast a doubt over the business acumen of Donald Trump.

However, the courts want to know if his company is paying the right taxes.

CBS News reported that the Trump Organization faces charges for tax fraud this coming October.

Donald Trump, himself, based on an exclusive 2020 report by the New York Times as cited by CNN, didn’t pay federal income taxes several times.

In a span of 15 years, he only paid for five years.

For example, in 2016, he only paid $750. He paid the same amount in 2017.

Issues As POTUS

There were plenty of issues thrown at him, but Donald Trump recently found himself in hot water over some papers.

Not just some ordinary papers, though.

More on classified presidential documents.

Politico reported how Trump, when he was still the president, would be fond of shredding documents.

These documents and similar White House records should be preserved.

He also stored several presidential papers at Mar-a-Lago; hence, the FBI raid.

Such actions would suggest that Trump could have violated the Presidential Records Act of 1978.

That law requires U.S. presidents to preserve presidential papers and turn them over to the National Archives.

According to Britannica, the result of this month’s FBI raid on his Mar-a-Lago estate showed that Trump kept “top secret documents.”

For that, Donald Trump could be charged for violating the Espionage Act.

Donald Trump Net Worth

Investopedia said that in 2015, Donald Trump claimed that he was worth $10 billion.

Not quite really.

CNN, citing Forbes as its source, stated his net worth for 2015 at $4.1 billion.

This 2022, Trump’s net worth, per Forbes, is an estimated $3 billion.

In a 2020 article, Forbes enumerated his properties/sources of revenue, which include the following:

  • commercial real estate
  • residential real estate
  • golf courses
  • hotel licensing and management
  • hospitality holdings
  • trophies & other properties (e.g., Mar-a-Lago, Trump Winery, Trump Tower penthouse)

In 2020, Donald Trump had $160 million in cash.

Is Donald Trump Back On Twitter?

No, he’s not. Twitter permanently banned Donald Trump in January 2021.

He tried to get back via Truth Social, where he used the username @PresTrumpTS, reported New Delhi Television in May 2022.

Twitter also suspended the said account.

As of this writing, it’s still suspended.

What Is Ivanka Trump's Net Worth?

Per a Yahoo! Finance report published in September 2021, Ivanka Trump could be worth an estimated $300 million.

If combined with the net worth of Jared Kushner, her husband, it could soar up to approximately $800 million.

Conclusion

Donald Trump remains newsworthy regardless of whether those news enhance his image or taint it.

On one hand, his political detractors and other critics in general deemed the recent FBI raid as proof that no one is above the law.

On the other hand, his fellow party members, aides, and public supporters believe the attacks aim to derail his reelection plans.

Will Donald Trump soldier on and weather these storms, or will the coming days spell doomsday for the beleaguered ex-president?
