Anne Hecheremains unconscious and on a ventilator at Staten Island University Hospital in New York after a car crash on August 5.
On the weekend that followed her vehicular accident, an unnamed representative of hers told People:
Anne is currently in stable condition.
However, TMZ’s Thursday report described the state of the 53-year-old actress as “dire.”
She got intubated because her airways got damaged.
Or what Dr. Michael L. Cooper, the hospital’s burn unit director, referred to as “inhalation injury,” according to Entertainment Tonight (ET).
She also suffers from third-degree burns.
Dr. Cooper also told ET:
“These are life-threatening injuries. She is fighting for her life right now.”
Surgery is needed to be performed on Anne Heche to treat her burns.

Mini Cooper Crash Equals Major Damages

On August 5, Anne Heche was driving her blue Mini Cooper in Mar Vista, a neighborhood in Los Angeles.
A video uploaded on YouTube by USA Today showed how a CCTV camera from someone’s house caught the speeding car.
The same thing could be seen from the video uploaded by TMZ on its site, recorded from a different CCTV.
Anne Heche was driving fast – way too fast.
She first crashed her carin someone’s parking garage.
Some bystanders approached the car to help.
They most likely didn’t have an idea it was the Hollywood actress behind the wheel.
Before they could do something, Heche started the engine again and sped off.
Then for the second time around, she crashed her car, and this time, right into a house.
It happened before 11 a.m. at Mar Vista’s South Walgrove Avenue, reported ABC30 Action News.
The Mini Cooper hit a two-story house.
One indication that Anne Heche continued to drive at high-speed rate after the first crash was the location of her car.
Captain Erik Scott of the Los Angeles Fire Department (LAFD) told ABC30:
So deep . . . about 30 feet in.
Right after the crash, the car burst into flames.
The fire spread into the house at 1766 Walgrove Avenue.
According to the LAFD, it took 59 firefighters and 65 minutes to put out the fire.
Lynne Mishele, the resident, didn’t get hurt.
She could have been fatally injured, too, if she got hit as the car stopped some two feet away from where she was.
Because of what happened to her house, people started to raise funds for Mishele through the crowdfunding platform GoFundMe.
When firefighters were pulling out Anne Heche from her car, she was still able to talk, according to Capt. Scott.

Drunk Driving And More Than That

Anne Heche was under the influence of alcohol when she was driving last week.
The result of her blood test revealed traces of cocaineand fentanyl.
Regarding the presence of fentanyl, it could be there in Heche’s body while she was driving.
Or, it could also be injected into her in the hospital for her pain.
So, TMZ decided to conduct further investigation on what happened to Anne Heche prior to the accident.

Anne Heche – A Troubled Past

Perhaps one of the things that the public would immediately remember about Anne Heche was her past relationship with Ellen DeGeneres.
That one took place long before DeGeneres soared to stardom via her now defunct eponymous TV show.
Despite the 11-year age gap, Heche dated the older DeGeneres from 1997 to 2000.

In a 2001 interview with ABC News, when she was 32, Heche said:
I drank. I smoked. I did drugs.
She tried all those vices to cope with a horrible childhood.
Her father, Donald Heche, a Christian, raped her when she was young.
He molested her many times and did different kinds of sexual acts.
After that interview, the public started seeing Anne Heche in a different light.
