The CMT Music Awards 2023, which were chosen by the fans, are over for 2023. This year, the event was held at the Moody Center in Austin. On Sunday, April 2, it was shown live on CBS and streamed live on Paramount+.
Kane Brown, Jelly Roll, and Cody Johnson are right behind Lainey Wilson with three nominations each. (Jelly Roll won all of the events he entered.) Shania Twain was named the winner of the CMT Equal Play Award in the days leading up to the ceremony.
This award honors artists who work to "raise diverse and underrepresented voices in country music," according to the CMTs. She is the third artist to get this award. Jennifer Nettles and Linda Martell were the first two.
Blake Shelton, Carrie Underwood, Keith Urban, and a lot of other artists performed at the event, which was co-hosted by Brown and Kelsea Ballerini. Megan Thee Stallion, HARDY, Noah Schnapp, Travis Kelce, and others were among the people who spoke.
