Paranormal Activity 3 2011

A "burglary" happens at the home of Kristi (Sprague Grayden) and Daniel Rey (Brian Boland) in August 2006, destroying their home and leaving only their newborn son Hunter's bedroom intact.

The only item taken was a necklace given to Kristi by her sister, Katie. Martine, the Latin American family's housekeeper, and nanny detect "bad spirits" in the home and burns sage to exorcise them, prompting Daniel to dismiss her.

Kristi is certain that their house is haunted, and she and Katie both recall being tortured by a demon as youngsters. Despite video evidence of strange occurrences around the house, Daniel initially dismisses her claim.

Ali (Molly Ephraim), Daniel's daughter from a previous marriage, begins investigating the strange events; she discovers that humans can make deals with demons for wealth or power in exchange for the soul of their first-born son, but if the deal isn't kept, the demon will stick with the family until another son is born—Hunter was the first male born on Kristi's side since the 1930s.

The family's German shepherd, Abby, is assaulted by the demon and seems to have a seizure as the violence intensifies. Kristi is assaulted and taken down the basement by the monster inhabiting her while Daniel and Ali take Abby to the veterinarian.

Ali is left at home with Kristi the next day, unknowing that she is possessed. Ali soon hears a scrape and opens the cellar door to discover scratches and the phrase means (Latin for "Mine") carved into it.

The video of Kristi's assault, as well as a weird bite mark on her leg, prompts Daniel to re-hire Martine, who crafts a cross to expel the demon; Kristi will have no recollection of being possessed.

Despite Ali's protests, Daniel attempts to transfer the demon onto Katie in order to rescue Kristi and Hunter.

When Daniel attempts to use the cross on Kristi later that night, she fights him and the lights in the home go out. He goes around the trembling home into the basement, where he is assaulted by Kristi and retaliates with the cross, forcing her to fall.

Daniel tucks Kristi in and burns a photograph of a young Katie, transferring the devil to her. Katie returns three weeks later, explaining that weird things have started to occur at her home.

A possessed and bloodstained Katie comes into the Rey home on October 9, the night after Micah is murdered, murders Daniel and Kristi, and then takes Hunter with her. The bodies are discovered when Ali returns home after a school trip, and Katie and Hunter's whereabouts are unclear.

Is Black Box Scary?

If you haven't seen the film, it follows Nolan Wright (Mamoudou Athie), a young father who survives a tragic automobile accident. Still, I'm relieved to acknowledge that I was mistaken about this picture. Black Box, it turns out, is pure horror, replete with cutting-edge technology and significant plot twists.
