Amber Laura Heard (born April 22, 1986) is an actress who has appeared in films and television shows in the United States. After a string of modest appearances in cinema and television (2006), Heard earned her first big part in the horror thriller All the Boys Love Mandy Lane. She rose to prominence after appearing in the action film Never Back Down (2008) and the comedy Pineapple Express as a supporting actress (2008).
She went on to star in films like The Joneses (2009), The Ward (2010), The Rum Diary (2011), Drive Angry (2011), Machete Kills (2013), and Magic Mike XXL in the following years (2015).
Heard joins the DC Extended Universe in 2017 to portray Mera, the Atlantean queen, in the films Justice League (2017), Aquaman (2018), and Zack Snyder's Justice League (2021). Heard has been a worldwide spokeswoman for cosmetics company L'Oréal Paris since 2018, in addition to performing. She is also an activist for human rights.
