When it comes to Denver’s security plans for this summer’s Democratic National Convention, the silence has been deafening. But a giddy weapons manufacturer apparently couldn’t hold its fire. Colorado-based Security With Advanced Technology issued a release this week announcing it has sold 88 Mark IV rifles to Denver Police, Colorado Independent’s Erin Rosa reports today. The guns can launch up to 15 compact rubber-ball rounds, some of which contain pepper powder, others of which can break glass. Though the firm describes itself as a manufacturer of "non-lethal solutions," its release describes the Mark IV as "a truly less-lethalweapons system." Emphasis ours.
