EPA Administrator Johnson Claims Executive Privilege
For months, Environmental Protection Agency head Stephen Johnson has refused to provide the House oversight committee with documents about the EPA denying California a waiver to regulate greenhouse gas emissions. He’s done the same for the EPA’s new ozone standard. Now Johnson is claiming executive privilege, a move that pre-empts a scheduled vote on whether to hold him contempt.
The House oversight committee has been dogging Johnson for information on these myriad scandals. The office has not commented on how they will proceed. We’ll stay on it.
