Nebraska Gov. Dave Heineman (R) might be balkingat the dealSen. Ben Nelson (D-Neb) secured to have Washington pick up Nebraska’s entire tab for a proposed Medicaid expansion, but California Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger (R) said today that he’d gladly accept the same arrangement for his beleaguered state.
“California’s congressional delegation should either vote against this bill that is a disaster for California or get in there and fight for the same sweetheart deal Senator Nelson of Nebraska got for the Cornhusker State,” Schwarzenegger saidtoday during the annual State of the State address.
“He got the corn; we got the husk.”
Unfortunately for the Governator, there’s no way either of California’s Democratic senators would buck the White House by voting against health care reform at this late stage in the game.
