The Associated Press reportsthat Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) indicated Thursday that the Finance Committee’s vote on its $829 billion health care reform bill won’t happen until next Tuesday.
The announcement came as lawmakers on both sides of the aisle were urgingDemocratic leaders to post the provisions of the bill, along with the costs, on the finance panel’s Web site for at least 72 hours before the vote.
Two weeks ago, Sen. Jim Bunning (R-Ky.) offered an amendmentrequiring just that. It fell 11 to 12, mostly along party lines. But supporters will be please to hear that now they’ll get 144 hours instead.
