Trent Franks Walks Back ‘Enemy of Humanity’ Remarks
Joan Lowy talks to a spokeswoman for Rep. Trent Franks (R-Ariz.) about his comment that President Obama’s support for legal abortion made him an “enemy of humanity.”

She also said that Franks meant to say that Obama’s abortion-related policies have no place in government, rather than that Obama has no place in government. [...]

It’s pretty humiliating for Franks, who is crusading in Congress to find a backdoor method of giving “personhood” to fetuses, to rely on a phrase like “unborn humanity.” That’s redundant, in his view. But just like his August gaffe on Obama’s citizenship, Franks has been chewed up by the mainstream media for being a little too honest in explaining his ultra-conservative issue stances.
