Manu Raju’s lede from his latest dispatch on former Sen. Norm Coleman’s (R-Minn.) endless legal bids to stop the Senate from seating Al Franken is a jaw-dropper:
“„[John] Cornyn, the chairman of the National Republican Senatorial Committee, acknowledges that a federal challenge to November’s elections could take “years” to resolve.
If Democrats were this tenacious, we would have had President Strom Thurmond in March 2001—he would have been next in line for the job if Al Gore or George W. Bush hadn’t been able to start serving.
