The Ice Storm

Jul 31, 202031.4K Shares1.4M Views
Maryland voters were in quite a mood yesterday, even before an ice storm snarled the evening commute.
Two of the state’s eight US House members were defeated by primary challengers, in what was a bipartisan affair.
On the Democratic side, Donna Edwards, a lawyer and foundation executive, defeated eight-term incumbent Albert Wynn in a district that includes parts of Prince George’s and Montgomery Counties and straddles the Beltway.
Republican Wayne Gilchrest, first elected in 1990 to represent the Eastern Shore part of the state, where the Chesapeake Bay dominates, was defeated by Andy Harris, a state senator and anesthesiologist.
Maybe there’s something in the water.
