Pritzker Withdraws Name For Commerce Post
Apparently, you can’t believe everything you read in the newspaper.
The Washington Post article I linked earlier, which formerly said that President-elect Barack Obama was *likely *to nominate his presidential campaign’s national finance chair, Penny Pritzker, for secretary of commerce, had been completely rewritten. it now says that Pritzker is unlikely to get the nod, due to “business obstacles.”
The story was first reported late yesterday by CNN.
The Swamp reports that, according to a “senior Obama official,” Pritzker told the Obama campaign that she is not interested in the post.
Whether it was a trail balloon, or never really on the table, it’s probably a good thing, for the reasons I laid out earlier.
