Oh, To Be a Fly on the Wall…
The Obama-Biden transition team announced today that, per tradition, Vice President Dick Cheney and his wife, Lynne, have invited Vice President-elect Joe Biden and his wife, Jill, to the Naval Observatory in Washington tomorrow for a tour of the vice president’s official residence.
Much like President-elect Barack Obama’s meeting with President George W. Bush on Monday, Biden and Cheney are scheduled to meet privately.
That certainly has the potential to be a lively conversation. I wonder if Cheney remembers this, from the vice presidential debate in October:
Of course, we can probably expect the meeting will be cordial and professional. But Biden would be wise to decline any further invitations to go, say, duck hunting.
(My apologies for the very old and very lame duck-hunting reference.)
