Time magazine did something sort of clever(and sort of creepy) with its new cover: a face, half Obama, half Clinton, merged into one, over the headline, "There Can Only Be One."
But The New Republic quickly cried foul, pointing to its (far creepier) cover image that ran last month:
To its credit, Time respondedby basically admitting it had stolen the idea — but not from TNR. Its source? The NBA, which is using the split-screen approach to hype the playoffs.
