Who’s the GOP Candidate?
The Atlantic’s Marc Ambinder has a wonderful catch. Take a look at these screen grabs from the Democratic National Committee and the Republican National Committee Websites and see if you notice who is missing:
On the RNC Website, the party’s presidential nominee is nowhere to be seen, and his name appears once — on a button that allows visitors to order “McCain-Palin” yard signs. By contrast, the Website mentions Sen. Barack Obama eight times, with one photo.
To be fair, the window that reads “Straight Talk From Fred Thompson” rotates images, so If you stay on the home page for 30 seconds, you eventually see Sen. John McCain.
Call me old-fashioned, but it seems to me that the party Website might be an appropriate place to show a little enthusiasm for your candidates.
UPDATE: Mother Jones was the original source of this report. My apologies.
