Three for Minnesota?

Jul 31, 202030.3K Shares979.1K Views
The Minnesota Senate race, which is likely to pit Democratic challenger comedian Al Franken against incumbent Republican Norm Coleman, may get more complicated
Dean Barkley, a consultant and disciple of former governor Jesse Ventura, tells Minnesota Monitorhe’s contemplating entering the race which polls now indicate is too close to call.
Ventura himself hinted earlier this month that he might enter the race, but "the gambit seemed more like an attempt by the former Gov. to pimp his latest book than an actual testing of the electoral waters," notes MnMon.
Barkley may be the more likely candidate though his chances of actually winning the seat would seem remote. He’s made three previous runs for the US Senate, garnering from 5 to 16 percent of the vote. But he would certainly alter the electoral dynamics of a Coleman-Franken race.
