Wednesday, U.S. Rep. Ed Perlmutter’s office hosted a gathering of MoveOn.orgenthusiasts and Perlmutter asked them to gather signatures for a petition to be presented to House Speaker John Boehner, asking for job creation legislation.
In an open letter to Boehner and House Majority Leader Eric Cantor, Perlmutter stated, “We need jobs for Americans now. We need certainty in our economy now….A jobs package is what is most needed to help our economy and put people back to work. ”
“We are the choir. We’ve been listening to our constituents and calling for a jobs package from Washington Republicans for nearly 220 days. Ed’s biggest priority is to help put Coloradans back to work in stable, good-paying jobs. We need our constituents to move on past Ed to Washington Republicans with the message it’s time to move on building good jobs for Americans now,” said Perlmutter spokeswoman Leslie Oliver in a prepared statement.
