Freshman Congressman Justin Amash (R-Cascade Twp.) says the nation’s capitol is even more dysfunctional that the state’s capitol.
“That’s been a surprise to me,” said Amash, the 2nd youngest member of Congress at age 31. “When I was in the state government, I thought things were dysfunctional there in my opinion.”
“Now I’ve discovered things in Congress are much worse than in state government and the state government runs fairly smoothly by comparison,” Amash said, adding that “not everyone takes things as seriously as they should in my opinion.”
Amashwas elected to Congress in 2010, after serving in the Michigan House. The comments were made in a 17 minute long interviewwith WZZM television in Grand Rapids.
