Report: Most members of Congress not holding town halls
The centrist advocacy group No Labels released a report Tuesday saying that only 175 House members are holding town halls this August. In New Mexico, Reps. Steve Pearce and Ben Ray Luján are, while Rep. Martin Heinrich, who is running for U.S. Senate, is not.
A Heinrich spokesperson told the AP that he is holding job fairs and conducting a telephone town hall. Politico recently reported on pay-to-enter town halls for Reps. Paul Ryan (R-WI), Ben Quayle (R-AZ), and others who have found themselves facing contentious town halls recently.
