Rep. Michele Bachmann and former Gov. Tim Pawlenty will be featured speakers at the RightOnline conferencein Minneapolis in mid-June. The conference is the conservative movement’s answer to the progressive Netroots Nation, which will also be held in Minneapolis in mid-June. RightOnline is organized by Americans for Prosperity, a group funded by the Koch brothers.Pawlenty and Bachmann will share the stage with fellow presidential aspirant Herman Cain and controversial blogger Andrew Breitbart.
Conservative blogger Michelle Malkin will also be joining the conference alongside Breitbart who courted controversy over Memorial Day weekend by accusing a Democratic congressman of posting an image of his crotch on Twitter.
“Liberals continue to attack our movement as ‘astroturf’ or a ‘front group’ — and have only ratcheted up the attacks since last year. If we don’t keep up the pressure at RightOnline it won’t be long before the liberals get their way,” she wrote. “RightOnline will teach citizens like you how to make a difference right from your keyboard just by engaging in everyday websites like Facebook and Twitter.”
The conference’s agenda includes a host of online organizing workshops for Twitter, Facebook and YouTube. A happy hour reception will be hosted by former Sen. Norm Coleman’s American Action Network.
RightOnline takes place June 17–18 at the Minneapolis Hilton. Netroots Nation will be held at the Minneapolis Convention Center June 16–19.
