Hastings’ next move on offshore drilling is unclear
The Hill has a nice interview with the presumptive next chairman of the House Natural Resources Committee, Rep. Doc Hastings (R-Wash.) The key takeaway? Hastings plans to look into the oil spill response bill passed by the House and the new regulations established by the Obama administration, but he’s not so sure about moving drilling legislation of his own.
To the extent that we can look at that, come up with something, it can only happen if we know all of the facts. That’s why we wait for the president’s report and start with that and then we will proceed from there.
