Here’s a supplement to Aaron’s great photo spread from this afternoon’s rally.

Remember: Fox News reported on these rallies. It didn’t promote them!

This was a popular theme, along with references to images of President Obama’s bow to the King of Saudi Arabia.

Another talk radio trope that made many appearances.

For some reason this woman brushed off reporters and photographers, which means we may never learn where the president was really born.

Lots of kids handled signs, although the best use of the young was:

Clarissa Knox, and her as-yet-unborn baby.

This grassroots protest mysteriously attracted a number of conservative pundits. Here’s Steve Moore, a Wall Street Journal op-ed page editor who appears on CNBC and Fox.

Radio host and Fox News pundit Laura Ingraham, who at one point drew a bigger crowd than the speakers on the stage at the other side of the park.

Griff Jenkins does interviews for Fox News, which did not promote these protests.

Her tax dollars pay for illegal immigration.

Scenes From the DC Tea Party: Round Two (Patriotic Video)

Following up on my photos earlier, here’s some video from today’s tea party in our nation’s capital. It was a patriotic ceremony all around, and it kicked off with the Pledge of Allegiance (a bunch of videos after the jump):

A brave quartet then sang three songs to do our country proud. First up, the national anthem:

Next, “America, the Beautiful,” which has never been so beautiful:

And finally, “God Bless America”:

Next came a speech to get people riled up, particularly the Democrats in the crowd. All one of them:

But my short attention span caused me to lose interest in the speaker and focus on a true patriot in the audience:

Scenes from the DC Tea Party: Round One

The Washington, D.C. tea party is underway! Several hundred intrepid protesters turned out in the rain to voice their opposition to taxes, bailouts, the Obama administration, the Federal Reserve and a slew of other political issues. TWI’s Dave Weigel will have full coverage of the event later this afternoon, but for now, enjoy a few photos I took of the tea party, after the jump:

An initially thin crowd in Lafayette Square slowly filled out as people ventured out in the rain.

A volunteer men’s quartet with some, uh, minor tuning issues kicked things off with renditions of “The Star Spangled Banner,” “America the Beautiful” and “God Bless America.”

This gentleman came all the way from Oregon to demonstrate his frustration with the Fed in front of the White House.

The event was rife with the obligatory communist references, including this shirt purchased from mikechurch.com.

And some Mussolini references too. At least this guy got his first name right.

An event for the whole family.

For everything else, there’s MasterCard.

The opening speaker emphatically declared that the demonstrators were NOT right-wing extremists. This guy begged to differ.

Ah, there’s the tea we’ve been hearing about.

This young man was the only demonstrator I saw calling for Rep. John Conyers (D-Mich.) and Rep. Maxine Waters (D-Calif.) to be hanged.

Meanwhile, a very different kind of protest was going on across the street.
