Fox News Poll: Most Blame Bush for Economy
Here’s a somewhat surprising result from the new Fox News poll. Asked which president is “more responsible for the current state of the economy,” only 18 percent say President Obama. Fifty-eight percent say former President George W. Bush. Nine percent blame both of them. Republicans are the only subgroup of voters who blame Obama, and [...]
Fox News Poll: Do You Think the Taliban Wants Victory More Than Obama?
The tradition of “wait, what did they ask?” questions in Fox News polls continues with this one from the network’s Oct. 29 survey.
NJ-Gov: Is Corzine Winning?
I’m hearing some smart Republican pushback to today’s Quinnipiac Poll – given its record in the state, one of the more credible surveys — showing Gov. Jon Corzine (D-N.J.) pulling out of a year-long rut and leading Republican candidate Chris Christie by five points.
The main Republican critique of the poll, which contradicts Public Policy Polling [...]
NY-23: Hoffman Really Likes That Club for Growth Poll
Doug Hoffman, the insurgent Conservative Party candidate in New York’s 23rd Congressional District posts this picture of his Canastota, N.Y. office on Twitter:
Poll: Fewer Americans Believe in Global Warming
Fantastic news for conservatives and libertarians who’ve been pushing this message for years and getting called “kooks” for their trouble. A new Pew poll has only 57 percent of Americans saying there’s “solid evidence that the earth is warming,” down from 71 percent last year.
Sen. James Inhofe (R-Okla.), probably the best-known climate change skeptic in [...]
New Afghanistan Poll Shows Split on Escalation
On the heels of CNN’s poll from Monday, The Washington Post finds a near-even split on a second troop escalation in Afghanistan this year, with 49 percent opposed and 47 percent in favor. “Most on both sides hold their views ’strongly,’” the paper’s write-up notes.
The partisan divide in previous polls — a poll this summer [...]
Poll: GOP Congressional Approval Falls to Record Low
A new Pew Research Poll with some good news for Republicans also includes this data:
[J]ob approval ratings for Democratic leaders in Congress have plummeted, from 47% in March to 33% currently. Approval ratings for Republican congressional leaders now stand at 24%, which is down slightly from March (28%). This is the lowest approval measure for [...]
Poll: Republicans Fall to 25 Percent Approval, Most Americans Back Public Option
One of the key storylines of the year has been the GOP’s inability to grab a real advantage from voter disappointment with President Obama and the Democrats. A new Quinnipiac Poll has only 25 percent of Americans approving of the Republican Party, the same low number approving of Republicans in Congress, and only 29 percent [...]
A Fox News Poll on Our America-Hating President
Via Nate Silver, I’m just now seeing the full crosstabs of a 10/1 Fox News/Opinion Dynamics poll. Looking it over, it’s tough to see how a straight-up Republican organization would have altered it at all. Most of the questions deal with fears of the national debt, which is one of the worst-reported, least-understood economic issues [...]
Poll: Americans Don’t Know What They Think
As the health care debate slogs on, Republicans are using the town-hall forums of August as proof that Americans oppose the Democrats’ health reform plans, while Democrats are pointing to various polls as evidence that the Republicans are wrong.
Just in time to confuse the issue further, another poll this week indicates that both sides are [...]
