Obama did support the McCain-Lieberman bill, which went down to defeat because it called for a  carbon cap-and-trade system. Both presidential candidates want to introduce this kind of a market-based system to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

Who knows whether McCain’s ad will prove effective. But, I have to say, it is nice to see a campaign ad about global warming — even if it’s extremely late in the game.
