Sen. John Thune turns down a run for president in 2012

South Dakota Sen. John Thune has informed family and friends that he has decided not to seek the Republican nomination for president in 2012.

The message, which was subsequently posted to Thune’s website and Facebook page Tuesday, is signed by the Senator and his wife, Kimberley.
