The right-leaning blogosphere is having some fun today with White House science adviser John Holdren. He said last week that the term “global warming” oversimplifies the complexities at play when greenhouse gas emissions are released into the atmosphere. “Global climate disruption,” he said, is a better term.
The anti-”czar” frenzy has faded a bit, despite two Senate hearings on the extremely flimsy controversy. Today, Rep. Todd Akin (R-Mo.) wades back in and makes a hash of things.

At a press conference on Rep. Jack Kingston’s (R-Ga.) anti-”czar” legislation, Rep. John Shadegg (R-Ariz.) held up a chart of 34 “czars” in the administration.
“I don’t think you know who these people are,” said Shadegg, ribbing the media for not holding them “accountable.”
