Joe the Plumber and the Series of Tubes

Reasonable people can differ about how much to cover Samuel “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher, but the last time I spoke to him, he was speaking cryptically about a “new project” he would launch at the end of March. The project is now online: IRSVote.com.

It’s sort of self-explanatory, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t confusing.

Visitors can click on a button that lets them “vote” on whether or not to keep the IRS, but either vote takes them to a page where they can get a T-shirt with Joe pointing out at the viewer, in his best Lord Kitchener pose. Or visitors can use their cell phones to vote. There are rules governing this.

We actually only wanted to charge 10¢ per vote but unfortunately the Telephone companies are now regulated and it is not possible to charge 10¢. Unbelievably, there is now a minimum charge of $2.00 or more. Fortunately for the campaign, we managed to find an existing company that let us use their 900 number etc to enable us to charge 99c, as they were grandfathered in, prior to the new regulations.

This prose reminds me of something. Ah, yes.

Mary Ann Akers works the Too Much Information beat at the Media Research Center’s annual awards dinner, reporting that Samuel “Joe the Plumber” Wurzelbacher took the stage to the sounds of “God Bless the U.S.A.” and prompted announced that “all this love and everything” was making him “horny.”

It seemed that all of those who were gathered in the ballroom of Washington’s Grand Hyatt hotel for the Media Research Center’s annual “DisHonors Awards” ceremony designed to bash the dreaded liberal elite media were stunned. Buzz immediately commenced.

“Did Joe the Plumber really just say he’s horny?” “Did you hear Joe say ‘horny’?” “Why is he horny and why is he telling us?”

I attended a CPAC dinner with Wurzelbacher where he wore a suit, so I’m not sure why he’s rocking the plaid shirt and blue language here.

Right-Wing Website Sends Joe the Plumber to Israel to Report on Hamas

In the past three months, Joe Wurzelbacher has gone from plumber to pundit to potential Congressman. The logical next step? War correspondent, of course.

The Associated Press reports that the conservative PajamasTV Website is sending Wurzelbacher to Israel to cover the Gaza invasion. He plans to spend ten days there to let “‘Average Joes’ share their story.”

Says TWI managing editor Laura McGann: “Maybe Levi Johnston can fill in for him while he’s gone.”

I have nothing to add.

UPDATE: No wait, I do. Back in October, when asked if “a vote for Obama is a vote for the death of Israel,” Joe responded, “I’ll go ahead and agree with you on that.”

Now I truly have nothing to add.
