Houston Newspaper Attacks ‘Birthers’ in Texas House Delegation
This is getting to be a theme today. The Houston Chronicle takes note of the six Texas Republican congressmen (the editorial was apparently written before Louie Gohmert joined in yesterday) who have co-sponsored Rep. Bill Posey’s (R-Fla.) “birther bill,” and chides the two members from the city’s suburbs.

House ‘Birther’ Bill Gets Another Co-Sponsor
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas), a former judge, is the latest congressman—and sixth Texas congressman—to co-sponsor Rep. Bill Posey’s (R-Fla.) bill requiring future presidential candidates to provide the Federal Election Commission copies of their birth certificates. Gohmert’s the first to do so since the passage of the Hawaii 50th anniversary of statehood resolution this week.

Blaming the Media for the Birthers
Bill Pascoe, who worked for both of the luckless Republicans who ran against Barack Obama in the 2004 Illinois U.S. Senate race, tells his party to distance itself from the “birthers” already. It’s worth reading, but this assertion rings false.
