Ward Churchill Foe Mounts Bid for Congress

By | 01.26.10 | 10:32 am

In 2005, University of Colorado Regent Tom Lucero gained a smidgen of national attention for his role in investigating — and eventually stripping of tenure — Ward Churchill, a left-wing professor who called workers in the World Trade Center “little Eichmanns.” Lucero’s been running for Congress in the 4th More…

George Stephanopoulos Takes Responsibility

By | 01.08.10 | 3:24 pm

I chided the ABC newsman for barely correcting Rudy Giuliani’s incorrect assertion that there were no terrorist attacks under George W. Bush’s presidency. Stephanopoulos comes back with this classy update:

Through his spokesman, Rudy Giuliani has clarified the remarks he made this morning on GMA regarding

Rudy Giuliani, Back When He Remembered 9/11

By | 01.08.10 | 12:43 pm

I’m still in shock over former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani’s comment that “we had no domestic attacks under Bush.” Is it possible that he meant to add “after 9/11″ and slipped up? I don’t know — forgetting to mention 9/11 is not a problem he’s had in the More…

Best Correction Ever, George Stephanopoulos Edition

By | 01.08.10 | 11:32 am

Apropos of the Giuliani post, I see that ABC’s George Stephanopoulos added some post-facto fact-checking:

What’s a little 9/11-neglect between friends, right?

Giuliani Says 9/11 Never Happened

By | 01.08.10 | 10:35 am

When partisanship curdles into the malleability of the truth, you get former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani on “Good Morning America”:

“What he [Obama] should be doing is following the right things that Bush did – one of the right things he did was treat this as a war on

U.S. Court System Outmatches 9/11 Conspirator

By | 01.04.10 | 5:33 pm

From Reuters:

Zacarias Moussaoui, the only person convicted in a U.S. court on criminal charges related to the Sept. 11, 2001, attacks, lost a bid on Monday to overturn his guilty plea and his sentence of life in prison.

A U.S. appeals court rejected arguments by Moussaoui,

Mary Matalin, Liar

By | 12.28.09 | 9:22 am

This wasn’t one of the big headlines from yesterday’s talk shows, but it’s fun to catch a lie in action. On CNN’s “State of the Union,” GOP strategist Mary Matalin said this:

We inherited a recession from President Clinton and we inherited the most tragic attack on our

DOJ Blames Six-Year Trial Delay on Detainee, Cites National Security

By | 12.21.09 | 6:00 am

Late on Friday, the Department of Justice quietly filed an unclassified, heavily redacted version (see below) of its argument why a New York federal court should not dismiss the case of Ahmed Khalfan Ghailani, an accused conspirator in the 1998 bombings of the U.S. embassies in Kenya and More…
