Chamber Slams Salazar Drilling Announcement
Thursday, September 30, 2010 at 3:34 pm
The U.S. Chamber of Commerce is not pleased with the Interior Secretary Ken Salazar’s offshore drilling announcement today.
Here’s Karen Harbert, president of the Chamber’s Institute for 21st Century Energy:
Today the Administration not only continued its crippling moratorium on offshore exploration in the Gulf of Mexico, it also announced new regulations that will effectively keep it in place even when it expires. While the ongoing important investigations into the Gulf accident are necessary and may lead to new safety measures, requiring industry to navigate a tangled web of new regulations will only lead to increased uncertainty for businesses and consumers and less investment in America’s vast resources in the Gulf.

Hi Karen thanks for the note. Decision has already been made by Americans. By the way the great resources of the Gulf are the people, not the petrol industries. Expect more of the same in the coming years. I know you were expecting another free ride, but that's not working for us right now. Take care, tell the lobbyists we say Hi. Now go home and leave my planet alone.

We must become energy independent. We live in a dangerous world and have few friends left. The price of all commodities is about to explode. Until we have an economically viable alternative to oil we had better ramp up production of our own supplies. Additionally we need to build refineries and nuclear power plants, neither of which has been done in this country since the 1970's. Our standard of living and freedoms are at stake as will be our ability to assist others less fortunate throughout the world. We have got to stop defeating ourselves at every turn with regulations and lawsuits.

This is all part of Obozo's agenda to destroy our economy.

Interesting and informative. But do you want to discuss this more? I am unable to quite remember what he was selling.
