Snowe and Collins Vote ‘No’ On DISCLOSE Act
Thursday, September 23, 2010 at 2:40 pm
The vote’s not over yet, but it might as well be.
Republican Sens. Olympia Snowe and Susan Collins of Maine have both voted ‘no’ on the DISCLOSE Act, officially killing all speculation that they might buck their party and vote for the campaign finance bill that reformers hoped might tug at their heartstrings.
Without them, there’s no chance of reaching the 60 votes necessary to overcome a Republican filibuster.

I am terribly disappointed that Sen. Snowe & Collins put the petty fillibustering of the Republican Party ahead of what's best for the country. They're actions of late speak volumes about them. Very disappointing, indeed.

Respect = first, there is no apostrophe in “their” = second, the disclose act is a direct attack on the 1st amendment of the Constitution, in an attempt by incumbent Democrats to retain their incumbent status by muzzling any organization that wishes to publish their voting records – if you think this is best for the country, I know of a bridge you can buy =

Hey goat, I'm sure you also cheered when Snowe and Collins upheld the gay ban in the military…. Being a veteran, I personally don't care if the AMERICAN next to me is gay or not, especially in the chaos of combat. The picture that expressed it best was one of the three flag draped coffins with the text, “which one was gay?” underneath it. The reason the Republicans were against 'DISCLOSE' is that the tea-baggers are hiding where all this 'donated' money is coming from. The reality is that what the Republican party is doing is creating a racist platform by separating the 'us' from them. Immigration is a problem, but it is not just Hispanics. It is the 'others' who stay even after their visas expire. Drug abuse is a major problem, yet is STILL painted as an 'inner city' problem. I live in a county that in area comprises the states of CT and RI, and with a population of less than 90,000. 65% of the residents are on state health benefits, another 34% on food stamps. This area is also 98% white. The motto of these 'conservative' groups has been to 'take back America'. To what? another 20 years of war? Continued tax cuts for the ridiculously wealthy (the likes of paris hilton come to mind)? This inheritance tax; do YOU have 3.5 million to leave to just one of your kids or grandkids? Before you correct someone's spelling or grammar, you need to truly study what you are going to talk about, rather than letting beck or limbaugh 'inform' you.
