In Florida, Crist Begins Dogging Rubio

The ad wars continue to run hot down in Florida’s three-way Senate race, but the lines of attack keep shifting. Florida’s Republican governor Charlie Christ, running as an independent, seems to have exhausted his ability to steal Democrats away from Rep. Kendrick Meek (D-Fla.), and has now wheeled around on GOP frontrunner Marco Rubio.

Crist is up with a new ad going after Rubio for his earmark spending habits while serving in the Florida House of Representatives:

Rubio, meanwhile, is utilizing his status as frontrunner to project an above-the-fray image for his campaign. He’s touted his bio in previous ads and is now up with another fluff ball that says “I’m Marco Rubio and I approve this message because America is the greatest country in the world”:
