O’Donnell Raising Funds Like Wildfire Since Her Primary Victory
Friday, September 17, 2010 at 5:16 pm
Christine O’Donnell’s campaign might start off down in the polls against Democrat Chris Coons in Delaware’s Senate race, but as of this afternoon she’s no longer the underdog in terms of fundraising. O’Donnell’s website, which now consists of nothing more than one big fundraising request, reports that she’s raised over $1.6 million since her primary victory on Tuesday. Coons, for his part, has reported his PAC raising about $1.6 million over his entire campaign. He still has about $900,000 of it in cash on hand.
It’s now eminently clear that, despite some initial hesitation from GOP operatives, Republicans are not walking away from O’Donnell’s race in Delaware. Or, perhaps more accurately, despite the fear and loathing of many establishment Republicans, they’ve been proven powerless in containing the excitement among conservatives over the GOP’s latest insurgent candidate. The news will likely galvanize Democrats to pour more money into the race as well, meaning little Delaware might be poised to break some spending records this year.

I guess this means Christine O'Donnell will be able to pay the rent on her townhome through election day.
Seriously, what percentage of her contributions are coming from the citizens of Delaware? The fact that tea partiers in Texas or Montana or Georgia are willing to throw money to her doesn't mean she can bridge the gap in the polls. And a huge media campaign in a small state like Delaware isn't necessarily going to be a plus for her.

How quickly some people forget.
Does the name “Scott Brown” ring a bell?
In case you draw a blank… he is the GOP Senator curretnly occupying the US Senate seat once occupied by Ted Kennedy..from deep blue.. overwhelmingly Democrat Massachusetts.

Like her or not, she's the candidate; just like the others, the Dems will do well to treat her like one and not some idiot. Andrew Cuomo is setting the bar here, I think. He said nothing about his opponent's personal attacks; if he can concentrate on showing himself as a focused candidate, then Coons should do likewise. All O'Donnell & her friends want to do is 'throw out the bums' in the government and have no firm plans except to throw it out and…what? They only want the government to go away. That won't happen, and watch if they do get elected: Obama should stand firm on the tax increase for the rich and keep the others in check. The Republicans, whoever they are, can't win that one, no matter how much their Politburo Chief McConnell says they are united. The only uncertainty here is the divided and divisive democratic party, and if they are trounced they have only themselves to blame.
