Six Senate Races With Climate Implications
Thursday, September 16, 2010 at 3:59 pm
Wonk Room has identified six Senate races with serious implications for climate change or, as Brad Johnson puts it, “in which a strong vote for climate runs a serious risk of being replaced by a global warming denier.”
Here are the races:
PA: Joe Sestak v. Pat Toomey
CO: Michael Bennet v. Ken Buck
WA: Patty Murray v. Dino Rossi
NV: Harry Reid v. Sharron Angle
CA: Barbara Boxer v. Carly Fiorina
WI: Russ Feingold v. Ron Johnson
One other interesting statistic in the post: Wonk Room says 36 or the 37 Senate seats of for grabs this year “involve Republican candidates who are global warming deniers or oppose climate action.”
